A Life Without Music...

There would be less joy, imagination, and beauty in the world without music. Frankly, I can't even begin to imagine my life without music. Everything would be so dull. Yes, I admit it...I am a music geek. I live and breathe music. How awesome will it be to completely saturate myself in music for the next 4 years?! For the average person, I know a fairly good amount of information regarding music...but I can't wait to find out all of the deep inner workings that makes music so captivating. There's this guy at my church who is the DJ for the high school group's band. He's this totally cool kinda artsy guy. He is so into every aspect of the arts. He's super creative and talented at doing these incredible mixes, plus he paints, takes pictures, does computer graphics...I'm like, man, what don't you do! I really enjoy people who are well-rounded and love every flavor of life. Anyways he burned me some CDs. Two are soundtracks, and the others have a bunch of Philip Glass piano music. I about died when I heard it. I get this funny little ache inside when I listen to certain kinds of music. The beauty of it just enraptures me...and I get lost in this other world. Unfortunately, I really can't compose, so when I hear music, I am totally amazed at how these people create such complex music. To the average ear, it's just music...but there is so much depth in those few pages of notes.
Music has a life of its own. Everyone should get to know it!
